Which peaks does the National Three Peaks Challenge cover?

Ben Nevis (1,345m, Fort William), Scafell Pike (978m, Wasdale / Lake District) and Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085m, Pen-y-Pass, Snowdonia). The classic challenge is completed in 24 hours including driving.

What vehicles do you use for Three Peaks transfers?

Two options only: a 4-seater executive car for small teams, or an 8-seater large vehicle for bigger groups. On the 8-seater we recommend booking a maximum of 6 passengers so there is proper room for boots, packs, poles, wet kit and food for a 24-hour push.

Why cap the 8-seater at 6 passengers?

Three Peaks kit is bulky — 6 rucksacks, 6 pairs of boots, spare clothes, food and cooking kit. Loading 8 people plus full mountain kit into an 8-seater leaves no comfortable rest space between peaks. Six is the sweet spot for rotating sleep and drying kit on the move.

Do you drive the whole route non-stop?

Yes — the driver handles Fort William → Wasdale → Pen-y-Pass (and the reverse legs) so every team member can rest, sleep or refuel between climbs. Timings are planned around your booked start slot on Ben Nevis.

Where can you pick up and drop off?

Start points are usually Helensburgh, Glasgow, Glasgow Airport or Fort William, and finish points at Pen-y-Pass or an onward hotel / station. Any UK pickup can be arranged — share your itinerary when booking.

How much does a Three Peaks transfer cost?

4-seater executive

Ideal for pairs or a team of 3–4 climbers. Comfortable saloon with room for 4 rucksacks, boots and food. The most economical option for a smaller push.

8-seater — max 6 recommended

Our large vehicle seats 8, but for Three Peaks we cap at 6 passengers so the back row stays free for kit, wet boots and rotating rest between climbs. Book the full 8 only if kit is minimal.

The 24-hour route

Roughly 460 driving miles across Scotland, England and Wales — the driver handles every leg so climbers can rest.

Leg 1 · Ben Nevis → Scafell Pike

~280 miles · 5.5–6 hours

Fort William down the A82, M74 and M6 to Wasdale Head. Team rests, refuels and sleeps in the vehicle while the driver runs the transfer.

Leg 2 · Scafell Pike → Snowdon

~220 miles · 4.5–5 hours

Wasdale down the M6, M56 and A55 to Pen-y-Pass / Llanberis. Timed to arrive with daylight for the final ascent where possible.

Prepay (held) — We pre-authorise the quoted fare on your card — the money is held, not taken. Our office checks the job for any extras and approves it, and only then is the payment taken. You can pay in your own currency; the fare is settled against its GBP value.When: the estimate is held on your card the moment you book. It is only taken after our office approves the job — usually within a few hours. If the final fare is lower, you are charged the lower amount; anything extra (waiting time, extra stops) is agreed with you first.If verification fails: no money is taken and the hold is released automatically (your bank may show a pending line for a day or two). Your booking stays in place as unpaid — we email and text you a fresh secure payment link, and if it still will not go through you can switch to paying the driver or by bank transfer without losing the booking.
Card after ride — Save your card securely now — we charge the final fare when the driver marks the ride complete, then email your receipt.When: nothing is taken at booking — we only check the card is valid. The final fare is charged after the ride, once the driver marks the journey complete, and a receipt is emailed to you.If verification fails: the card is not saved and nothing is charged. Your booking is not cancelled — we contact you for another card, or you can pay the driver on the day.
Bank transfer — We email you our account name, sort code and account number with a payment reference as soon as you book. The payment must be showing in our account before your journey starts — if it hasn't cleared by then, your driver will be told to collect the fare from you instead.When: you pay before the ride. We email our bank details and a reference when you book, and the money must show in our account before pickup.

If your bank’s 3-D Secure check fails or is cancelled

Nothing is charged and any hold is released by your bank. Your booking is kept — we email and text you a new secure payment link, and if the card still will not verify you can pay the driver on the day, by bank transfer, or over the phone. We only cancel a job if you ask us to.

All prices are quoted and settled in GBP. Card payments are handled by our secure payment providers — we never store your full card details.
